Persia, or Iran as it’s called today, is known for its remarkable natural contrasts– snow on one side of a mountain range and sweltering heat on the other. There is also a great difference in vegetation and landscape between the rainy and fertile provinces along the Caspian Sea and the dry lands of the Central Desert. The country is bound on the north and south by two bodies of water, the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf.
Tehran is the modern heart of the country, a metropolis that hums with life and energy. It’s got its own merits for being home to various historically significant architecture and palaces.
